Modeling, texturing, rendering and compositing of a device that marked a generation of pilots around the world: The Spitfire of the legendary 303th Fighter Squadron. After having made several air meetings to have references of the device in action, I modeled the device on 3Ds max. Blueprints are fairly simple to find on the internet. The fairly round and simplistic shape of this device is practical for UVW maps. For scratches the device was done in 2 steps: the UVW combined with a Vray blend Mtl. The flames and smoke were produced with the Phoenix FD software.
The framing, compositing / ambiance were inspired by illustrations by Romain Hugault.
